Description
A classic 1986 Sportflics rookie card of New York Mets star Len 'Nails' Dykstra. This card features the unique 'Magic Motion' triple-action lenticular technology which displays three different images of Dykstra at bat when tilted. Features a red border with blue text and the 'Center Field' position designation.
Key Features
Mid-80s Rookie Card of a key member of the 1986 World Series Champion Mets. Early example of lenticular 3D card technology in the hobby.
Authenticity Indicators
Authentic. Confidance: High. The horizontal lenticular grooving is consistent with 1986 Sportflics production. These cards are rarely counterfeited due to the high cost of recreating the 3D plastic/ribbed surface for low-value cards.
Flaws to Note
Major centering issues (heavy towards top and right). Yellow/brown stain on the top left corner border. Visible edge wear on the bottom margin. Softening on the bottom right corner tip.
Selling Guide
Where to Sell
eBay (as a low-start auction or PWE-shipped buy-it-now), COMC for slow-burn sales, or Sports Card Facebook Groups local to the NY/NJ area.
Selling Tips
Due to the low value, sell this raw in a plain white envelope (PWE) to keep shipping costs under $1. Grading is not recommended as fees will exceed the market value of a mid-grade example. Use clear photos showing the 3D effect.
